Our Methodology
Every calculation on this site uses straightforward, verifiable time arithmetic — no proprietary black box:
- Duration = End Time − Start Time − Break Minutes
- Overnight shifts are handled by adding 24 hours to the end time when it falls on the next day
- Decimal hours = Hours + (Minutes ÷ 60), the format most payroll and invoicing systems expect
